Pumpkin Spice Latte {{Dairy-Free}}

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!

Although, here in Florida we probably won’t begin to entertain Fall-like conditions until at least another month (or two). Aside from closing in on Frog’s birthday month, Fall is one of my favorite seasons because everything is offered in pumpkin-spice flavor!

Although Starbucks does offer a nice variety of dairy-free drinks, Pumpkin Spice Lattes are not on that list. The pumpkin spice sauce contains condensed skim milk so there is no hack to obtain this drink in a dairy-free form.

Not only is my at-home version free of dairy but you can probably purchase all the ingredients for the same price as a Venti.

First, I like to add the dry ingredients which consist of pumpkin spice seasoning, salt (sounds weird but this is key!) and cocoa. The pumpkin spice seasoning I have is from Big Lots and only cost one dollar. It consists of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg. You can certainly make your own as well!

Next I add the maple syrup. Alternatively if you wish to have a sweeter drink you can substitute sugar or your favorite sweetener.

Then add your “milk”. I like cashew milk because it is very creamer, but almond milk or coconut milk would work as well! Finally add coffee – lately we have been on a cold-brew kick so that is what I use. Mix it all together and add ice.

If you’re feeling extra fancy sprinkle some cinnamon on top!
